Look at Me is a piece I created while facing uncertainty. This past summer has taught me that I feel angst and discomfort when an outcome is not certain, and I’ve come to identify this as fear. For three weeks straight, I allowed myself to spiral amongst these thoughts, unable to cherish the precious, fleeting moments of the present. I added the reflective material all around the figure and placed its gaze downward so that as you walked past it, the piece would demonstrate how we miss what is in front of us when we are lost in thought.
