Three Dollars and Six Dimes is the first charcoal piece I have ever created. I wanted to reflect strength as I was facing a sort of imposter syndrome after my rejection from Governor’s School. Out of admiration for Erykah Badu and her emotional intelligence, I used her as a reference picture, lining the background with lyrics from her On and On, knowing that regardless of what goes on in life, my walk never ends.
